Bah Soon Pah Road, off Sembawang Road, is a delightful stretch to explore. There are many nurseries there including one of the biggest in Singapore – Hua Hng / World Farm (15 Bah Soon Pah Road). You will find a wide range of trees and shrubs, ornamental and aquatic plants, pots, planting mediums, and other gardening tools and accessories. It is quite a sprawling facility, so be prepared to walk.
You can also pop by the neighbouring nursery, Evergreenery (11 Bah Soon Pah Road). It has a smaller collection but there are some prized finds such as Olive Trees.
If you like guided tours, Oh Chin Huat Hydroponic Farms (14A Bah Soon Pah Road) will be the right place for you. It is one of the pioneering and most successful hydroponic farms in Singapore.
Choose between hydroponics farm tour or herbs and spices tour, but remember to book the tours in advance.
Without a guided tour, you can roam around and explore the hydroponics and aeroponics greenhouses as well as the farm mart. You can even buy their hydroponics kit to try it out at home. This would make a nice project for you and your children.
