Bonds between father and child are cast and forged when you take part in sports together. One of the easiest and most memorable ways is to run together in an event like the Army Half Marathon.
Even if your child is as young as 3 or 4, the special Father & Child Challenge that takes place at the 2012 Army Half Marathon makes running together possible. You and your child team up to complete a short 800m distance. Do it at full sprint or casual stroll – it is up to you. Best of all, moms can tag along and play photographer or cheer leader!
The amazing atmosphere of downtown Singapore around the Marina Bay area, coupled with a sense of competing with numerous other father-child duos will become a treasured memory for your family (Tip: There are lots of photo opportunities).
If you have an older child, there is also a five kilometer family run that will let the whole family join in the fun run.
Run through historic sites together, enjoying the music and carnival atmosphere, as you and your child take in the truly novel experience of pounding the streets free from the usual cars and SBS buses. End the morning with fun carnival games designed just for dad-and-child teams.
