While some of these may not be world-class acts or of SSO standard (see SSO’s free outreach concerts in the HDB heartlands), be rest assured that most are solid, competent and entertaining outfits who love what they do. Check them out and let your hair down too!

Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay
Weekend Evenings: On the Waterfront.
Venue: By the Esplanade waterfront promenade.
The Esplanade Presents series “usually comprises concerts with diverse themes and styles that range from nostalgic ballads to melodic Cantopop to hi-octane power rock. It happens every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening and on the eve of and on public holidays.”

5 Oct 2012 – 7 Oct 2012: Octoburst! Venues and Time: TBC.
Part of the Octoburst event will feature various musical performances specially tailored for kids in both outdoor and indoor venues. Keep a lookout for these at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay – Young Audience.

15 Nov 2012 – 18 Nov 2012: A Date with Friends: Celebrate Yesterday Once More with Songs from the 60s to 80s. At the Concourse and Outdoor Theatre. Relive the good old days and share the songs of your childhood with your children. There will be the ukulele and harmonica classics, famous homegrown stars such as Dick Yip and the Minstrels, Hillary Francis and Li Peifen showcase Mandarin evergreen songs and Malay folksongs, as well as English oldies-goodies.
