Open since October 2011, it features more than 400 rare objects ranging from the 9th to the 19th century of Asia’s maritime history.
Your first step into this one of a kind museum will bring you face to face with a full sized replica of the ‘Bao Chuan’ or Treasure Ship. This famous ship carried precious Chinese cargo filled with gifts and tributes and your senses will delight in the short animated video that captured its voyages.
The museum centres around the amazing explorations of Admiral Zheng He. Be prepared to encounter the various treasures and precious novelties he received over the course of his explorations; such as, gems, rice, ivory and even animals like camels and giraffes in the Souk gallery.
Take a moment to visit the Typhoon Theater (tickets sold separately) to experience the 360-degree multimedia show. It is a larger than life, albeit; short show that is memorable nonetheless.
