So you think you can build a better city than our planners?
You can certainly give it try at the Singapore City Gallery in the URA Centre.
In addition to discovering how the city of Singapore was built, your senses will be treated to several multimedia presentations and a pulsating five-minute video. Filmed over a period of 24 hours, the video captures the heartbeat of Singapore’s landmarks, heartlands and people. Its impressive 270-degree view will make you want to watch it again and again.
Make sure you play the Sustainable City video game as a family as well. Six players can simultaneously take part in building a sustainable and live-able city and try their hand at creating and balancing industrial spaces, residential areas, parks, offices and tourist spots.
This may prove to be a bigger challenge than you think. You gain points when people are satisfied with the living conditions you have created for them.
Give it a shot. Visit the URA Centre. Play the game. Admission is free.
