Makan Your Way to KL 8

contact_middle_foodKuala Lumpur! Truly a strong contender for the title of “Makan capital of South East Asia”.

Our first suggestion is that you check out Pelita Nasi Kandar, an Indian Muslim restaurant housed in a bungalow that serves delicious South Indian cuisine at reasonable prices, right smack in the middle of the city centre.

When you get there, you will feel like you’ve taken a glimpse of an all-you-can-eat buffet at a Maharajah’s palace.

Although the environment is somewhat humble, the spread of sixty dishes will cause your eyes to become as big as saucers.

Remember to ask the server to drench your rice with the mix of curry sauces of your choice. The regulars tend to have their personal preferences and they’re always more than happy to oblige.

This outlet should be a relatively easy find as it is opposite the Corus Hotel:

Pelita Nasi Kandar (Halal)
Address: No. 149, Jalan Ampang, 50450 Kuala Lumpur.
Tel/Fax: 603-2162 5532

Footnote:
Kuala Lumpur or KL is the capital city of Malaysia. It is a 5 to 6 hour, bus or car ride, away from Singapore.
‘Makan’ is the Malay term for ‘Eat’
