Discover the History and Future of Singapore’s Public Housing at the HDB Gallery

hdbgalleryFor Dads who reminisce rural farms and good old Kampung houses lived in their childhood days before the move into newly built HDB flats – visit the HDB Hub with your family and to journey through a uniquely Singaporean showcase of housing and living conditions, past and present.

Not only is it a great opportunity for kids to learn more about the process of getting a flat in Singapore, the visit may well bring back memories of the purchase of your first home – not forgetting the wait (with wife) for your queue number to be called!

The young ones will be fascinated by the miniature-scale models of new housing estates and interiors of new flats. They will think of them as adorable doll houses!

The HDB Gallery has interesting exhibits such as The World of HDB, Corporate Information, Memory Lane, My Kampung Days, Slums and Squatters and much more.

It also displays authentic props used to furnish homes in the 50’s and years after, whilst educational multimedia kiosks provide a cool sneak peek into the future of living in the new-generation HDB flats.

Admission is free. HDB Gallery opens Mondays to Fridays, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm. Visit www.hdb.gov.sg for more information.
